Dog Feeder

When I was asked to participate last winter in the first annual "Art in the Atrium" art show hosted by the Virginia Beach Contemporary Art Center, I felt honored. Who wouldn't want to be surrounded by some of the best artists on the east coast while being served champaigne and appetizers the entire weekend? The show itself was amazing, but more importantly the artists I met were incredibly talented and interesting. I spent a good part of the weekend just appreciating how artistically gifted so many were. I will have to say, however, the lady that approached my booth around closing time Saturday night impressed me the most. She loved the solid wood dog feeder shown above but wanted it made smaller for her yorkie, Lizzy. She said she would be back the next morning to pick it up. Of course I could not get home fast enough, only to spend the next 8 hours designing, cutting, sanding, painting, etc. her custom order. When asked by friends and neighbors if she had paid for her order or put a deposit down I informed them that she had offered but I did not feel that was necessary as she seemed incredibly genuine and her word to come the next day was good enough for me. I am a trusting individual, almost to a fault, but thank goodness she kept her promise and came back. What I learned in the process was that the next time I take a custom order I will be a bit more business saavy and require some sort of deposit. I got lucky! Not only did she buy the dog feeder, but she has purchased other items from me for gifts. Below is her testimonial. Thank you Dede!
.....My first purchase from HangupsbyTeri was in November of 2005. It was a dog bone dish I bought for my dog. I am a stickler for detail and quality. I have since purchased one of the baby foot boxes for a friend and it was a huge hit ! I found the quality and attention to detail top notch. Teri takes a lot of time and effort to make each piece unique. She holds a high set of standards for her work and I admire her fine craftsmanship. I can honestly say I recommend everything I have seen from HangupsbyTeri.
Sincerely,
Dede Schmidt
